Airhead in the Snow

I quick-charged the battery on the R100, it wasn't really low, and put fresh oil in it. Man, does 20w50 move slow in the winter! I stood there and thought about it. I started her up and warmed up the engine. I thought about it some more. I turned off the engine and continued to think about it. I sighed. I turned towards the garage door. I looked out into the alley with the plowed damage of 8 inches of snowfall, some flurry still coming down. Maybe I could do it. Maybe I wouldn't squirrel out of control trying to accelerate on the snowy alley. Maybe the front wheel wouldn't lock up when I so much as touched the brake. Maybe I wouldn't break my 53 year-old leg trying to catch my balance. Maybe I wouldn't break all of my ribs as I was thrown to the ground. Maybe I wouldn't do major cosmetic damage to which ever side of the bike slid along the asphalt. Maybe monkeys would come flying out of my butt.

Don't worry, you're not missing anything, that is what it looks like. Fog on snow. Yippee. I am so happy, not. It looks the same inside me. Fog on snow. Woot. I have a come-back headache (the 1st dose of ibuprofen did not cure), my left eye is scratched and sore (where that came from I do not know), and I feel nausaus (sp?) sick. Why? because I can. I don't have to work for 11 days so of course I would get sick.
I went to Best Buy and bought a TV card for my computer. They have changed technology since the last one that I tried so hopefully this will work. While I was there I picked out a camcorder and a iPod dock but I did not buy them. My head hurts.
I have a rebuilt alternator that is supposed to go into the R100 so that I can return the core to Motorad Electrik but it is cold and dark out there in the garage. I don't feel like it now. I ordered a garage heater from work but the person that I ordered it from gave me no clue as to when it will come in, certainly not while we are shut down for the year end. I will save motorcycle repairs for after the heater comes and is intalled. With the insulation and windows that I put in the garage it should be pleasant after that. The guy at Motorad Electrik was lenient about when I return the core for exchange so I will take advantage of that. I don't feel like eating lunch even though it is 1:30. bluhk.
Beth went up north with the Branen's for Christmas. Luke will be here but the action will be at Chelsea's house on Christmas. Paul is, of course, away at school in Phoenix AZ and Tim just finishing in St. Paul MN. I will be ... I hope this headache goes away by then.

I found a tree on Hwy. 36 north of here and bought it and asked Luke to pick it up for me w/his Comanche 'cause I have the company rental Ford Focus and he brought it in and strung all white lights while I made turkey enchiladas and I put Charlene's cross-stitch angel on the top and beth was on the computer and Chelsea was watching My Best Friends Wedding. The snow is all shoveled, my laundry is done, I did some errands, I will sleep to get up at 5 so that me and Adam can get on the road again in the morning.

I put new photos on my iPod and I bought the Kentucky Kid series for $5. that should be fun to watch some time.

... so is Christmas ...

My dad used to say "so's Christmas" if I said that I was coming but was obviously too slow. Well, what do I do now when even Christmas is moving faster than me? This year SUXCKS for Christmas. I have been in Kentucky (it's not Kentucky's fault) since Thanksgiving and I am going back tomorrow. I don't have tree. I can't find one in Burlington for sale. I don't have any presents for kids. I came home to dig up all the snow that had been packed down while I was gone because it did not get shoveled when it was fresh and do laundry and do some housecleaning and get some groceries for Luke and Beth and try to move because I am so burnt out and I RILLY DOWNT CARE!!!! about anything. at all. i cant even get beth to go to church with me this morning. fine. she's not going anywhere today then. poop.

The sun is shining. The snow that fell yesterday and night is is fresh and beautiful. The house is warm and full of cats, well, ok the cats part is not that wonderful (peauw! (or P.U.)). Jesus loves me. He takes me to His Father. Thanks for listening ...

i am a rounder and getting a good charge

Just for the record, I took a good ride on Gilera (the bare 1980 R100 BMW) on 11/22 @ 30° and I have been riding Sharona (the dressed 1988 R100RT BMW) the last two days in the twenties. I am a rounder year rounder. Must I prove it too you? There is a website where I can go to qualify to be documented as a verifiable rounder and I may do that.
I just put a ThunderChild diode board in Sharona to replace the blown-up original and replaced alternator brushes and synched carbs. She's good for now.
Gilera has a junk alternator but the rebuilt one came in the mail yesterday so I will get that done ... uh ... I don't know when. I am working in Kentucky M-F for the next 3 weeks at least so I have weekends and then there is Christmas vac. yeah that will have to be it.

I have to go pack now for tomorrow ...

I have things to do so I blog ...

I am supposed to be getting some Saturday morning things done and I have a million things to do so instead I am gooooofing around on the computer. The Stonesifers had linked me to their new blogspot which reminded me that I opened up this one more than a year ago and had done nothing with it since. The awesome title was good enough for a year I guess. Well, I had to go through the gyrations of getting set up with Google now that they are the new owners and once that I got that cleared up so that I could access my own blog then I had to play with the layout a little which prompted me to add Robbie's EMF video. What I would like to do is make this my family and personal news blog and with some experimenting create a seperate blog that documents w/word and pictures different motorcycle builds starting with the Konstantine (1974 BMW R75/6) that Luke and I are attempting to coordinate.

To explain the photos; I was experimenting how they work here. What you see is the After and Before pictures of Paul's Norton Atlas. It worked except they are in the wrong order.
